  • Additional compensation: in addition to the corresponding monthly payment, workers can earn more money if they meet certain extra objectives of the company. For example, getting a certain number of sales or customer contracts.
  • Promote a position : if we work as telemarketers, we can promote to supervisors. However, to achieve this we would need to adapt to what the company requires to achieve this end, such as, for example, maintaining a certain number of sales over a period of several months.

In some companies – for example, textiles – the same brand may have locations in different places in the same autonomous community. In the case of meeting the objectives required of us, we could request to change location to be close to our home, in the event that work is too far away.

What is usually taken into account to obtain a promotion?

On many occasions, some very specific and sometimes difficult to demonstrate skills are taken into account, which will allow us to obtain that promotion or get them transferred to another place. .

Some of these skills could be leadership skills. These tend to be considered essential to lead a team or take responsibility for a work group, which must be known to guide and guide so that the company can achieve the goals it has planned.

Likewise, the efficiency and commitment that the worker puts into his tasks, in a more or less spontaneous way and without explicit request, can attract the attention of the company and consequently allow it to promote.

In global terms, promoting within a company will not only make the worker assume greater responsibilities, but will also allow him to carry out other types of work that pose a challenge and, at the same time, a new learning.

We could conclude that promotion within companies can not only be a good opportunity to obtain advantages -such as a salary increase-, but also to acquire new skills and perform a different job than usual.

However, when there is no possibility of promoting within the company, it can happen that employees get bored in their work ; As a result, your job performance may drop substantially and negatively affect the overall organization.

On the other hand, almost any worker feels at some point the need to progress in the workplace. This is one of the reasons that can urge us to do our job better, put more effort into it and be interested in improving.
